ICE GUARDIANS - Feature Documentary Update

After several long months of production on a 6 minute demo for the proposed feature documentary Ice Guardians, we are happy to announce the project has picked up steam and continues to move forward. With a fantastic response from the NHL and players alike, the project is now moving into the financing stage having gained interest from numerous distributors including Alliance Films. We are happy to say that we are on our way to receiving unprecedented access to some of the most fascinating and misunderstood professional athletes in sports, NHL enforcers.

For those unfamiliar with the project, Ice Guardians is set to follow the lives of three modern day enforcers as they make their way through an entire NHL season. Beyond the journey the film will engage some the greatest athletes to ever play the game in an attempt to understand the history of the role and how it got to where it is today. The documentary will also clarify the unofficial rules these enforcers believe they are for; primarily when to fight, who to fight, and why they believe it's their duty to fight.

BKS is excited about the progress of the project and looks forward to bringing this cinematic journey to life!

BORN AGAIN LIARS SOCIAL CLUB - Nationally Broadcast

Our third music video with the critically acclaimed band "Sex With Strangers" has now entered into national broadcast on Much Music. As revealed in the music video, production was devilishly fun this time around as the crew was witness to a member of the band allegedly crashing through a wall. The now notorious wall incident was not an isolated episode as the 2 day shoot brought about various questionable events including the unintentional breaking of a valued guitar, the intentional tackling of a fellow band mate and a crazed fruit smoothie scene destined for the cutting room floor. All in all, it was great time had by all! A big thank you once again to all those involved!

THE UNION: The Business Behind Getting High - Over 2 million views!

The critically acclaimed "The Union: The Business Behind Getting High" has now reached over 2 million combined views on YouTube and over 500, 000 ratings on Netflix with an average rating of 4.2 stars out of 5.

The Union began its run in 2007 having been selected to 33 international film festivals. The film went on to win numerous awards across North America including The National Film Board Award for "Best Canadian Documentary" at The Edmonton International Film Festival, "Outstanding Documentary Feature" at the Winnipeg International Film Festival and "Grand Prize Best Editing" at The Rhode Island International Film Festival. Upon ending its festival run, The Union entered into international distribution and received critical acclaim from the likes of the AMC (American Movie Classics), Bill Maher (Real Time With Bill Maher) and Jason Buchanan of All Movie Guide in the New York Times who stated The Union was "Illuminating" and contained "Fascinating insight".

NEW CITY ANTHEM - Nationally Broadcast

The first music video by BKS, "New City Anthem", has been picked up by Much Music for national broadcast. A new experience for SWS and BKS alike, production on the video spanned over 5 days and saw the cast riding through the city in full makeup, standing on building rooftops overlooking the city, performing in nearly out of control house parties and lying dead on a basement floor. It was a daunting task and BKS would like to extend its gratitude to all those who gave their time to help bring the project together.
